Kathryn Beth Adams



Kathryn has owned and operated her award-winning design firms K2S design studio and Divine Proportions since 1998. The project list ranges from Corporate, Hospitality, and Residential design to Marine & Aircraft design. K2S design studio won both Gold and Silver Awards for Commercial Renovation in Rhode Island Monthly Magazine. They were also featured in the television program showcasing the Awards.  Her work has been published in Color In Small Spaces, Metropolis Magazine, and Rhode Island Monthly Magazine. 

She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 1995 and a Bachelor of Interior Architecture Degree in 1996 from The Rhode Island School Of Design.  She has worked on various projects from New York to Las Vegas.  She also worked in Hong Kong on internationally acclaimed large-scale Asian and UAE Hospitality projects.

Kathryn and her staff completely designed and renovated a luxury villa in St. Bart’s, Beau Bijou.  She also was responsible for the marketing and operation of the project as a villa vacation rental.  In June 2012, the firm completed two multi-million dollar residential compounds along with the design and refurbishment of one of Rhode Island’s exclusive Beach Clubs.  As the project designer, she is responsible for the Interior Architecture, design, specification, and project management; while working with architects, engineers, and landscape designers. 

Ms. Adams also established an internship program allowing young women from various countries the opportunity to work and study in a safe and nurturing environment.

Kathryn has a true passion for teaching.  She received her Master of Arts in Teaching from Rhode Island College in June of 2014.  She teaches Fine Art and English.  She has been an instructor for Commercial Interiors, Residential Interiors, and Final Portfolio Design at the Rhode Island School of Design, as well as the Pre-College Interior Design, Japanese Studies, and Adult Education courses.  She is a guest lecturer and critic at RISD and Johnson & Wales University.
